Dancing Paper Dolls

Materials: Tissue paper, scissors, pane of glass, metal dinner plate, two hardback books of the same size and a wool cloth.

Process: Cut out three separate paper dolls from the tissue paper. Place the paper dolls on the metal plate. Place the books on either side of the plate. Place the glass pane balanced on the books over the metal plate. Rub the wool cloth over the glass pane.

Result: The wool electrically charges the glass which in turn attracts the paper dolls. As the dolls lose their charge they fall onto the plate. Rub the glass again and the wool electric generating charge allows the dolls to continue their dance.
