Guitar with Gloria
Guitar with Gloria is ideal for seniors of all cognitive ability levels. It was out of my love for both music and senior citizens, Guitar with Gloria began.
I started playing guitar 40 years ago. In 2006 I was asked to play guitar two hours a week at a local nursing home. I LOVED the job - the residents, the staff, and the sharing. Then in 2007, I launched Guitar with Gloria & Science for Seniors. I feel I am truly blessed in my work. Many, many times residents who may have grown quiet after moving into a retirement community, come alive when I play a familiar song. Residents begin tapping their feet, smiling, singing, and remembering the good times associated with the music they love. I feel I am truly blessed in my work. I look forward each morning to going to work, greeting old and new faces and seeing the joy of music reflected back at me!

Live Music For Seniors
LIVE MUSIC
Guitar with Gloria brings live music to seniors in nursing homes, assisted living communities and senior recreation centers.
ENGAGING
We engage seniors in fun sing-a-longs. They receive large print music sheets and handheld jingle sticks so residents can fully participate in the entertainment. I am a nationally certified dementia practitioner with experience in encouraging memory care resident participation.
GREAT SONGS
I play popular music based on the ages and the eras of my audience. I play holiday-themed music from Christmas to Labor Day, travel songs of places in America and upon request, religious songs. I have experience playing one-on-one music for residents in hospice care.
Guitar with Gloria is not just entertainment. It is an engaging activity program based on the scientific medical research that music engages the memory, de-stresses the brain and improves mood. My live music for seniors engages them as they sing their favorites songs. I also enjoy sharing trivia about the music and artists who made it famous. It is an experience to remember for everyone involved!
